Description

A derivative of cysteine with diverse biological activities; substrate for MSRA; decreases locomotor deficits induced by overexpression of human α-synuclein in a reactive climbing assay in a Drosophila model of Parkinson’s disease; prevents exogenous cholesterol-induced increases in total cholesterol levels in serum and liver in rats with propythiouracil-induced dysregulated cholesterol metabolism; decreases plasma glucose, insulin, MDA, and TNF-α levels as well as increases GSH levels in rats fed a high-fructose diet at 100 mg/kg; reduces the number and area of hepatocellular foci containing GST-P in a rat model of diethylnitrosamine-induced hepatocarcinogenesis (100 mg/kg, p.o.)
